Business News: Doggielicious Launches Crowdfunding Intiaitive

Hooman has recently got to know a lovely lady called Alex on the Isle of Man.  In fact they were gassing for AAAGES while I was waiting patiently for my tea!

Alex runs a company called Doggielicious - a fast-growing company that specialises in high quality dog treats, bursting with natural and fresh ingredients.  Alex started out by baking treats for her own dog Amber and friends pets, and is now supplying shops and customers all over the world.

Hooman was actually getting hungry just discussing the ingredients in her baked goodies - a lot of locally sourced ingredients including the cheese, flour, honey and eggs, plus including ingredients that are beneficial to canine health such as ginger and garlic.  Hooman was fascinated about what is used - when she did some clicking about the website, she was taken by surprise at the goodies that look like they are coated in chocoate - Alex explained that it is all cacao, and what looks like white chocolate is similar to the yogurt coating you get on nuts and raisins, melted down and piped on.  Clever stuff!

Alex creates all sorts of marvellous things in her kitchens, including everyday and special occasion treats, doggy birthday cakes, and other ranges such as collars, clothinng, pottery and accessories, toys and grooming products.  Just take a look at some of the piccies of the beautiful creations!

Now, with an ever expanding business, comes an ever expanding need for business space.  So to that end, Alex has set up a crowdfunding initiative using Indiegogo, to raise funding to expand Doggielicious into bigger premises and employ extra staff.  The initiative went live on the 22nd July 2014 and the goal is to raise £30,000 and this is where you can get involved, to help a home grown British business!

Crowdfunding works on pledges from whoever wants to get invovled - from as little as £2, you can pledge amount.  If the amount of pledges raised by the closure date reach £30,000, then Alex will receivee that funding.  If not, then pledges are not taken - as Alex said to me, it is an all or nothing scenario.

Depending on the amount you pledge, there are various perks available, everything from a couple of packets of freshly baked treats, all the way through to hampers, monthly doggy boxes for a year and even a master class in baking with Alex herself and a doggy pawtrait for the biggeset pledge!

If you would like to support a British born business and get involved, you can read more about it on Indiegogo itself.   Click here to hear directly from Alex and make a pledge!

No compensation was given for promoting Doggielicious - we just love the Doggielicious ethos!
